Rumi – In Every Breath

IN EVERY BREATH

if you’re the center
of your own desires
you’ll lose the grace
of your beloved

but if in every breath
you blow away
your self claim
the ecstasy of love
will soon arrive

in every breath
if you’re the center
of your own thoughts
the sadness of autumn
will fall on you

but if in every breath
you strip naked
just like a winter
the joy of spring
will grow from within

all your impatience
comes from the push
for gain of patience
let go of the effort
and peace will arrive

all your unfulfilled desires
are from your greed
for gain of fulfillments
let go of them all
and they will be sent as gifts

fall in love with
the agony of love
not the ecstasy
then the beloved
will fall in love with you

During Prayer

During Prayer

During the heart of one’s prayer,

standing in Blissful Union,

in the ever-growing, softly-glowing

warmth and Blessings of Divine Light,

All that is Present is—

ONE Breathing

ONE Being

ONE Loving

ONE.

Bringing Peace to the Table of Life

Bringing Peace to the Table of Life

When those who claim to be seeking peace enter a peace conference, while holding in their hearts feelings of hatred or derision toward the other mem- bers, and in their minds the will for power over them, is there any shred of doubt that peace will prevail? Yet in this shameful way, mockery peace con- ferences are conducted all around the world.

The same false claims of striving for peace hold true for those who are fight- ing in religious wars, and are also true within the business world, and in our personal lives:

In order to have peace we must be peace, we must bring peace with us

as our contribution to the Table of Life;

we must carry peace with us as our in-kind offering.

Otherwise we find, that no matter how hungry the human family is

for beauty, for Love and for truth—

no one has brought to the Table anything fit to eat.

Remembering Nobel Literature Prize Winner, Rabindranth Tagor

REMEMBERING NOBEL LITERATURE PRIZE WINNER, RABINDRANATH TAGOR, May 7, 1861-August 7, 1941, Calcutta

Love is the only reality; and it is not mere sentiment.
It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation.
— Rabindranath Tagor

Rabindranath Tagore, Bengali poet, short-story writer, composer, playwright, essayist, and painter who introduced new prose and verse forms and the use of colloquial language into Bengali literature, thereby freeing it from traditional models based on classical Sanskrit. He was highly influential in introducing Indian culture to the West and vice versa, and he is generally regarded as the outstanding creative artist of early 20th-century India. In 1913 he became the first non-European to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature.

The son of the religious reformer Debendranath Tagore, he early began to write verses, and, after incomplete studies in England in the late 1870s, he returned to India. There he published several books of poetry in the 1880s and completed the Manasi (1890), The Ideal One, a collection that marks the maturing of his genius. It contains some of his best-known poems, including many in verse forms new to Bengali, as well as some social and political satire that was critical of his fellow Bengalis.

THE LOVER OF GOD, FIRST ENGLISH EDITION: Tagore’s suppressed book is finally available in an English translation.

The Lover of God’s first appearance in English translation, is the result of a long collaboration between Bengali scholar Tony K. Stewart and the celebrated poet Chase Twichell. The poems are presented bilingually and are illuminated by an introduction and postscript, as well as the false biography Tagore wrote for Bhanusimha.

Guidance Arrives

Guidance Arrives

Humanity is climbing as one family, upward and toward the Light— moving with certainty, and unerring Guidance:

War, killing and oppression of all kinds
create a rebounding movement

within the hearts of all who are called upon
to partake, or witness horrific deeds.

And yet all sides—the oppressors and responders,
as well as the victims,

are breathing each breath from the One Creation—
for there is nowhere else to be.

During times of unwanted surrender,
Guidance often arrives

urging us to ‘Do Something’—

to root out the evil, to bring forth,
in the midst of chaos and despair,

some offering of Truth, and Love.

This Inner desire to ‘Do’
is a response from the Most High,

Who constantly Guides all Being,
from deep inside,
all who cry out in prayer.

Your Journey to Truth Begins Here

What if this dear Mother Knows, just as the concentration camp victims knew, that she and her calf are prisoners, and that their lives would be so difficult, and their bodies abused and then she would disappear and her baby be taken from her soon. Check out her eyes. See what you feel. Check out the eyes and feeling of the calf. They are not happy. She is letting him know what is in store. “I have nothing I can do to help you. I will be separated from you soon.”  Look in their ears. They are marked. At the least we can give them happy lives, and pain-free deaths.

Your Journey to Truth Begins Here

Remaining untaught from our youth
about the one life we all share,

We feel that the lives
that we harm or we kill

Are not part of our own
sacred flesh.

O please hear the cries from the
oceans, O  listen to voices in pain—

Calling to us from the trees and the hills,
from the fields and the mountains and plains.

Try to remember the beings,
that give you your meat every day.

See their dear eyes, and their innocence,
please raise them in honor, not shame.

Take a walk in the meadows and valleys,
spend a day with the flowers and deer,

Open your hearts, and feel what is real,
your journey to Truth begins here.

Walking the Beauty Way

Walking the Beauty Way

The flowers, the birds and the animals are speaking to us. They each have their own language of delicate, fine vibrations. Once one becomes attuned to these Living-Life vibrations, one understands the ancient admonitions to ask each flower or animal’s permission—before we take it’s life.

How does one begin to ‘See’ and experience these finer vibrations and thus to bring Heaven to the Earth? The next time you are reaching to pluck a flower from it’s stem, stop your arm and hand mid-stream for just a few moments — and try to Breathe with the flower. In this Way you will begin to ‘See’ to ‘Know’ it’s Divine Nature, and feel its gentle Beauty Gift-offering to life. If you can’t feel it the first time, have patience. Sit for an hour, or a day in front of it. Then come and sit again. For any closure is on our side: Nature’s Living-Life streams toward us non-stop.

Separation from Nature coincides with society’s thought-less use of the Sacred body of the Earth. When Humanity feels separated from the Earth, animals are carelessly grown and killed with no sense of Compassion, and the lives of the plants, and the waters and the children of the Earth are roughly played with, and are understood as merely pawns—to be used and abused through the mercy-less, greed filled hands—of Humanity’s immature will. With this viewpoint the True world recedes behind the veils, and Nature becomes as a back-ground, a faded back drop, decorating the stage of our play.

As long as Humanity remains deaf, blind and falsely convinced, that we are separate from the Living Earth, we can not experience our intimate union with Her Beauty. Nor can we hear the desperate cries of all the tender Spirits of the Beings we carelessly harm each day. They are our Sisters and Brothers of The One Breath, and they co-inhabit the Earth with humanity, and whenever we choose to end their lives, we need to Remember—that their life is Being Given to us—for our physical needs.

To keep the flame of Compassion alive within humanity, during the ‘Epochs of Human Ignorance,’ we are taught by the ancients that whenever we take the life of any creature or living thing, we must do so gently, with deep respect and Gratitude.

As we each turn to follow this deeper Call, we begin to develop our ‘Listening’ and our ‘Knowing’ skills:

‘Whensoever you eat your bread, or drink your wine, you are eating -My- flesh, and drinking My blood.’ Jesus was reminding us all to live with  gratitude and Compassion: ‘Be considerate to all life—Remember, with each bite of food you take, you are partaking of a Gift that contains the Holy, Sacred One.’

As we open to this Living Unity, we find, that all life is so imbued, so Sacred, that whatsoever we eat or drink—each and every animal, flower, fruit and grain—is filled with the Holy Essence and Being of the One Source of All. Becoming this finely tuned, can take a lifetime of dedication and practice in our epoch, as we are so far removed from the heart of Nature.

If there is any life at all,

this is all there is of life, within the Sphere

of the planet Earth:

One Living, Sacred Gift.

Hidden?

Not even one molecule is hidden.

Yet all that is Real appears

completely veiled,

as long as the Heart remains disconnected

from Nature.

For Nature is The Divine Life manifested

in the Here and Now,

and Is the Soul reflection of the Most High.

And nothing of Divine Wisdom, and nothing

of Divine Joy,

or of Holy Communion,

can ever remain hidden

from those Compassionate Ones,

who in Truth,

Walk the Beauty Way.

Thich Nhat Hanh — Our True Home

There is no need to try to be something else.
We only need to let ourselves be what we already are,
and enjoy ourselves just as we are.

That feeling, that realization, is our true home.
Each of us has a true home inside.

Love’s Harvest

Love’s Harvest

One becomes One with the Divine Love-Light

as much as it is possible for humans to be

through a deep and unceasing devotion

to the Supreme Truth.

Yet for this union to occur an ever-increasing fire

must be built in the heart.

And the fuel for this fire flows

from the depths of one’s love.

When the fire in one’s heart is sincere,

it melts away all thoughts of darkness

and separation

and in its glow all false impressions

are cleansed from the Mirror of the Soul.

In prayer-full moments, one finds oneself

immersed in Golden Light

And, then one Knows—

that they have been held, unknowingly,

that they have been sought, by an abiding patience

and a Sacred Love—inherent in all Being.

And in this boundless awareness, one’s

heart overflows, with a gratitude

that thoroughly removes,

the last traces

of one’s dissolving veils.

One Divine Song, Given To All

One Divine Song, Given to All

Underneath and above and throughout

The variety of different paths

And ancient texts,

There is but One Source,

One Divine Song,

Given to and sung by all hearts

Throughout all seasons and climbs,

All cultures and epochs.

It is a song of Peace, of

Harmony and Love;

Spoken by all lips,

It Lives with-in all who have

Ever drawn breath—

Love one another.

Do unto others as you would have

Others do unto you.

Administer True Justice.

Respect and care for the Earth.

And daily give thanks, to the Creator of All.

May all beings join hands and hearts together, so that the words of the Prophets will soon be fulfilled:

“On that day, the Most High will be known as the Creator of All, and peace will reign on Earth.”
